Starlink has surpassed 9 million users at a remarkable pace, putting Elon Musk’s satellite internet service on track to become a global connectivity powerhouse.
Starlink, SpaceX’s satellite internet project led by Elon Musk, is expanding at an impressive pace, adding one million new users in less than seven weeks. The service now has more than 9 million active users and is available across 155 markets worldwide.
A comparison of official figures shows that since early November, Starlink’s user base has been growing by over 20,000 users per day on average—a rate that cements its position as one of the fastest-growing internet networks globally.
According to Business Insider, Starlink delivers high-speed internet through a constellation of more than 9,000 low-Earth-orbit satellites, with a strong focus on connecting remote and underserved regions. Reports also suggest that SpaceX could go public as early as next year, with a potential valuation of around $1.5 trillion.
Elon Musk has stated that Starlink is currently SpaceX’s largest source of revenue. Data from Cloudflare also shows that global internet traffic generated by Starlink users more than doubled in 2025, highlighting the service’s rapid growth and rising demand.
Beyond residential users, several airlines are planning to offer Starlink-based Wi-Fi on their flights. SpaceX has also hinted at the possibility of launching a mobile operator service, a move that could further strengthen Starlink’s role in the future of global connectivity.
