Samsung Faces Alarming Outlook: Projected Profit Drop of 39% Raises Concerns

Warning Signs for Samsung: The Korean Tech Giant Could See a Steep Drop in Operating Profit
Samsung has faced serious market challenges in recent years, including intense competition in the memory segment and falling behind in advanced technologies like HBM3E.

Weakened performance has led analysts to predict a 39% drop in the company’s operating profit for Q2 2025 potentially pushing Samsung’s earnings to their lowest level in the past six quarters.

Samsung has yet to secure HBM3E orders from Nvidia, and U.S. export restrictions have made it increasingly difficult for the company to sell its advanced chips to China.

With limited growth expected in Samsung’s HBM chip shipments this year, the Korean tech giant has shifted its focus to the next generation HBM4 in hopes of making a strong comeback in 2026.

Meanwhile, Samsung’s smartphone sales have remained stable. Increased consumer demand ahead of upcoming U.S. tariffs has helped keep the company’s mobile division on solid ground.
