Xiaomi Bluetooth Speaker Essential – Black

The Xiaomi Bluetooth Speaker Essential is a compact speaker for music at your desk, on a picnic or around the house. Its rounded black fabric body and orange carry loop make it easy to pick up and take along. Choose wireless playback from your phone, or connect a compatible computer over USB for a simple desktop audio setup.

Key features

• 5W output: a full-range driver and passive radiator combine in a small enclosure for everyday music and spoken audio.
• Bluetooth 6.0: pair a compatible phone, tablet or laptop without relying on a home Wi-Fi network.
• USB audio: use the Type-C connection with a compatible source and a suitable data cable.
• Built-in microphone: answer and end Bluetooth calls using the speaker controls.
• IP66 protection: dust and splash resistance for everyday outdoor use, with the port cover properly closed.

Listening time and charging

The 1000mAh battery provides up to 10 hours of playback in Xiaomi's tests at 40% volume. Loud playback uses more energy: the manufacturer's corresponding maximum-volume result is approximately 2.5 hours. Actual runtime depends on volume, audio and operating conditions. Charge through USB-C and let the port dry completely before connecting power.

Expand your listening setup

Two speakers of this exact model can form a left-and-right stereo pair, including units in different colours. Compatible multi-speaker mode can synchronise up to ten Essential units. Additional speakers are purchased separately; this listing supplies one black speaker. Stereo playback is intended mainly for music, and video sound may show a delay.

Specifications

Before you buy

This model is a Bluetooth speaker, with no Wi-Fi, app connection or voice assistant. USB playback requires a compatible device and a data-capable cable; connecting directly to the source is preferable to using a hub. IP66 does not make it suitable for immersion or charging in wet conditions. Place it on a stable surface, particularly at high volume.
